Yep, even took pictures.

Kinja'd!!!

10 years ago while visiting my small home town I stumbled across this Newport for sale at the end of a road. I think it was $4800 . It was exactly as I remember my grandfather’s car. Without concrete proof and a place to store it if I had it shipped though , I passed. Fast forward 5 years and I’m told the story of my cousin putting a lawn dart through the roof. That could have been useful information to have .

Lol lawn darts. Now that’s a safe toy for kids.

There was a warning label on the box, what more do you want?

Yeah, but they were fun. Never did play with them as intended. We just threw them as high in the air as we could. And ran like hell.

Small world. My grandpa had a 71 Newport 4 door HT, green on green (I think a shade darker than this car, but same vinyl top). It replaced a 65 Newport, but according to my uncle, the older car was far better.    It stayed in the family among a couple people for around 20 years, so I guess it wasn’t all bad.  383 I am pretty sure.

And even stuff that isn’t all that pointy can be dangerous. My brother stepped on a golf tee that was pointing up... it went all the way in.

Hmm, I only remember a few of my grandparents’ cars, and of those the only ones I would be tempted by:

My g randmother’s Escort GT (with the asymmetrical grill), which was like this :

(that went to my cousin in the late ‘90s, I’m pretty sure she doesn’t still have it two decades later)

And my grandfather’s Pontiac Grand Prix coupe (like this):

I think something (mechanical failure? crash?) happened to that, he replaced it with a green 6th- gen one that was nowhere near as cool (no vertical door handles and no digital dash for starters).

These are still new enough I wouldn’t count out finding similar cars for sale . Eyes peeled.
